It has time for me to stop paying attention to the Academy Awards
because of my love for GOOD film. The nominees for Best Picture
included "Crash," "Brokeback Mountain," "Munich," "Good Night, and
Good Luck," and "Capote." NONE OF THESE MOVIES ARE IN THE TOP 47
GROSSING MOVIES OF 2005. Although no indication of quality,
the top grossing movies represent America's collective votes for
best film. It seems to me the Academy is a little out of touch. Take
a look at the list of the top 47 grossing movies below and see if
any of them should have been nominated.
