Why are these prices so high?

Some people have noticed that the prices for some of the cruises below seem higher than other prices on the Internet. Steve spoke to the travel agent about this, and here is her reply:

First of all, the rate for the Vision for $759 interior is not for either the July 27th, or the August 3rd sailing date! It would be for the August 31st, or September 7th...(The rates go down for Alaska the end or August as well as in May or early June...)

I do see the rate of $849 for July 27th category "Q" inside, and $1199 category "I" outside, and $1929 category "D1" balcony.... (These categories have very limited inventory, thus the higher rates quoted for a bit higher category of inside and outside cabins. We could possibly get a few people in on these lowest categories subject to availability...)

When booking the group, we will be able to provide some shipboard credits, depending on how many cabins are actually sold...there are some advantages to keeping the group together, even though the price up front isn't any lower.
